Welcome to DENTAL SURGERY Department

MISSION
To provide tertiary oral care,screening and early detection of oral precancerous
and cancerous lesions.
To teach and train MBBS students and Forensic Post graduates regarding the
different oral diseases,diagnosis and medical management and prompt referral
to a dentist that shall enable them to take part in the oral care as a clinician
To train the nursing students in assistance during the procedures so as to make
them a part of oral health care provider.
BRIEF HISTORY
The department of Dental surgery, S.V.Medical College, Tirupati was established
in 1961 and is maintaining standards in rendering oral care services with the
available staff since inception with bed strength of 5. The SV Medical college is
located in the heart of the city. At present, the department has 1 unit with four
dental chairs running dental services from 9 Am to 4 pm including the public
holidays. In addition to these facilities the faculty are attending the
emergencies pertaining oral care round the clock in different wards.
HOSPITAL SERVICES:
OPD : Daily 9:00 am - 1:00 pm, 6 days a week
IPD : Number of Units: 1, Total Bed Strength:5
Emergency: Daily , round the clock
Root canal treatment,Medical management of precancerous lesions,TMJ Dislocations
and all the routine dental services
