MISSION
- To provide high quality treatment services for respiratory diseases with state of art facilities.
- To promote and strengthen the community based health education programs like NATIONAL TUBERCULOSIS ERADICATION PROGRAMME.
- To train undergraduates, postgraduates and ancillary medical personnel i.e nurses,health workers, respiratory technologists, physiotherapists.
- To promote research in respiratory medicine
BRIEF HISTORY
The department of Pulmonary medicine, S.V.Medical College, Tirupati was established in 1961 with single unit with a bed strength of 10. The efforts made by the previous professors increased the bed strength from 10 to 70 . At present, the department is with full-fledged staff and equipment with bronchoscopy , Spirometry , thoracoscopy, sleep lab services & state of the art Tuberculosis diagnosis & treatment facilities

HOSPITAL SERVICES:
- OPD : Daily 9:00 am - 1:00 pm, 6 days a week
- IPD : Number of Units: 1, Total Bed Strength: 70
- Emergency: Daily , round the clock.

- Bronchoscopy & Thoracoscopy services
- Chest sonography & guided procedures
- Pleural aspiration & Intercostal drainage
